Founded in 2011 at HEC Montreal, HEConomie is Canada's leading macroeconomic investment committee.

Focused on financial economics and pure and applied economics, HEConomie and its Global Research division, structured around six specialized asset class research groups, establishes a nexus between academic excellence and practical application.

HEConomie is known for hosting some of the most important and prestigious finance and economics competitions at HEC Montréal, including the renowned HEC Stock Pitch Competition. These events foster innovation and critical thinking, allowing participants to immerse themselves in real-world economic challenges and scenarios.

In addition, the association organizes conferences featuring prestigious financiers from various fields. These conferences provide students with unique insights into the financial sector and offer networking opportunities that can significantly contribute to their professional development. 

Perhaps the most distinguished facet of HEConomie is its research branch, HEConomie Global Research. Managing a portfolio spread across six asset classes, it operates like a macro L/O equities fund, offering students an unparalleled opportunity to gain practical experience. 

The mission of HEConomie Global Research transcends academic exploration. It actively contributes to the community of HEC Montréal by disseminating its research and investment recommendations, thus fostering a thriving ecosystem of knowledge and innovation.
